When you first hear the truth, there’s a feeling of euphoria, elation. ‘Ah, wonderful!’
The reason is you’ve stopped banging your head against the wall. It’s a heavenly relief. You might recall this?
Then normalcy, a sort of boredom, sets in. You start to feel something’s missing – you’re not banging your head against the wall.
So you start again: 'Ah, that’s better. That’s painful’.
Then you cry out, 'God help me!’ And God helps you.
The master comes and says 'Stop banging your head against the wall’ – instant relief! 'Oh, thank you Master.’
Then normalcy, boredom, the feeling that something’s missing and off you go again, banging your head against the wall...
