Twenty Articles of Truth

From ‘Twenty Articles of Truth:’

The truth every man and woman seeks is in themselves.

Nothing is true unless it is true in your experience. This is your protection against being duped or misled.

However, because all truth - realised and unrealised - is within you, it is possible to hear the ring of truth, or echo of that truth, in a teaching or a philosophy, even though the details may be outside your known experience. This is how you continue to listen, even when the mind is unable to follow.

All activity in the world is the search for something permanent to reflect the truth.

There is nothing permanent in the world except impermanence itself.

When impermanence is perceived as the only reality of the world, the truth within is immediately realised; and the seeking and searching ends.

Do what you’ve got to do.

But what about all those unnecessary things that you amuse yourself with?

Energy should be contained so that you get the power … The power to do what? The power not to have to worry any more; not to have to be anxiously concerned about anything any more. The power to have everything come to you that you need without having to expend any effort that you’re not moved to expend.
