Love is always recognisable by the absence of choice in it.

Men's needs are ever being filled, therefore ever changing. When a need is filled, there is no longer a need. That is why love as we know it seldom seems to last. It is not the love that changes, it is the need.

Finally, when you are ready, when your likes and dislikes have lost most of their substance, love will provide the choiceless opportunity for you to serve love with your life. Then you will not have to choose or want again.

First, love will teach you how to love yourself. It will do this by compelling you to give up disliking and liking yourself. You will lose that choice. And you will feel like you are dying. It will then teach you not to like or dislike where you are. You will lose that choice too. And you will feel that you are dead.

Pure love is unselfish because it does not need to take a single thing from anyone, but it receives.

Love is real.


The love that knows pain is not real.

It is possible to love someone without liking them. As it is possible to like someone without loving them.

It is every man's unrealised longing to match the beauty he senses with the love he feels.

Go and love a woman. Why do you want to go and look at pictures of her? Go and love her.
