The point/object of the world is to free yourself of it.

The earth is beautiful, joyous, cosmic, eternal. There are no problems on earth. The world is the unhappy superstructure man has imposed on earth. The world consists of his problems. Both earth and world are within you.

Attachment to the world is mortality.

Anything you love in the world will cause you pain.

When you no longer need the world's pain you won't need its phoney pleasure either.

The world is as pressing a problem as your love of it.

The world will always be trying to drag you down, to drag you backwards with its most powerful weapon, the past.

The whole scheme of existence depends on what is done on earth. Only on earth is freedom from ignorance attained.

The world is populated by Westerners – first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh–class citizens; that is, men's privileged rulers, the super–rich or powerful, the rich, the workers, the poverty–liners, the exploited and the abandoned.

Dead or alive, man's invincible, controlling passion is for life as it is lived, or may be lived, on earth.

The world is only what we believe in.

Coming to all nations on a scale not before experienced, nor imagined possible, is civil strife, economic disruption, political instability, morale-destroying assassinations and public murder, terrorist mayhem, massive breakdowns in democratic law and order, riots and war like destruction of property and security along with open police violence, reprisals and savage army intervention against the democratic masses.

There is no escape in democracy except escapism itself­ - and that's all provided.

Freedom of the press - the licence to avoid the truth every day.

Only in the real jungle are there no policemen, no doubts - and no insanity.

Money's base appeal is that it does not reveal where it came from, or what kind of act earned it.

To some future man we are the twentieth-century barbarians.

The blight of an awareness which can tolerate the conditions under which most of humanity has to exist cannot - will not - be permitted to spread beyond this planet.

Evolution is a cosmic movement - far vaster than our idea of it - towards cosmic consciousness, towards conscious cosmic participation.

Civilisation is the art of putting man first.

Civilisation demands that all human beings within its compass must come first - or none at all.

All civilisations are attempts at civilisation.

Ours is the first world civilisation.

Our cosmic ethic - what we are contributing in evolutionary terms to the whole - can be gauged at any time by the state of the world in relation to harmony, justice and the well-being of mankind as a whole.

Western culture, any culture, is a rotten growth which you feed with ignorance.

You're not tired of living, just tired of trying.
