Barry Long began teaching in the late 70’s and early 80’s in London, attracting people in ever increasing numbers to his public meetings and teaching intensives. When Barry moved back to Australia in 1986, having lived in England for twenty one years, he and his wife Kathy, and young stepson Simon, moved into a property on Great Western Road, Tamborine Mountain, Queensland. These recordings 'The Talks from Tamborine Mountain', were his continued communication to those people in the UK and around the world who had begun to listen to him and put his teaching into practice in their lives. The talks are unique amongst the other recordings in the Barry Long Archive, in that they are recorded without an audience, from the verandah of his home, in the sub tropical paradise of Mt Tamborine in Queensland, Australia. The talks have a uniquely profound quality and the subjects he talks on are searingly relevant to the one who is earnest in re-finding their way home, to the place of being within.
