Spiritual Or Divine?
From the Tamborine Talk April 1990.
You hear me talking about living the divine life. And then you hear people talking of the spiritual life. What’s the difference?
The spiritual life is living to some sort of code, some ethic that someone’s laid down. It’s living up to something … And of course failing. You try to live what Jesus or Buddha said, or what you think is right. That’s not living the divine life.
The divine life is being in touch with the good inside of your living body now. You divine it, tap into it, now. There’s no way to do it. You just do it. It’s always there in everybody. There is no distance to it at all. That’s why I say it’s not a spiritual path. All paths lead to somewhere outside of me; that is, outside the good that you can feel in ‘me’ in your body now. You only need a path to somewhere that you are not.
Are you living the divine life now, this moment?
