The Lord

From the Tamborine Talk August 1986

Each of you on the spiritual path has been in what I call ‘the absence of experience’. That is, there come these times of aridity in which you can get no experience from what you’re doing. You go out to a party; you get no experience, no feedback, no excitement. You’re with your friends; nothing’s really coming back to you - you’re getting no experience. It’s not loneliness. It’s just no experience. And the mind doesn’t understand it and tries to flee from it by trying to get some experience, which it cannot do. That is the Lord.

It is utterly impossible to find God on the spiritual path without first being able to face the Lord. The Lord stands on the edge of existence, at the very beginning of existence which, of course, begins in you.

The Lord is nothing. You must be able to turn and face the Lord - Nothing- before you can stand the power, or face the power, of God within you.
