Profound Power
I, the individual hearing or reading these words, I am always at the centre. The whole of life happens around me … The closer an outer event is to me, the individual, the more immediately significant it is to my life within. And if the event has a potent emotional effect on me, I can actually use the power, the energy present, to change my life for good.
But I can’t use this power for my own selfish ends, in the way that people and nations use fortuitous change to force situations to their own advantage. That is the way of force, which we are all familiar with in the world and domestic scene. There the ground is laid for future quarrelling, war and misery. I’m talking about power, not force; integrity, not dissipation.
Only connecting and merging with power will work.
Connect with the profundity in the human body where power originates … In truth, that profundity is just power. It has no attributes, besides simply being behind everything and running everything according to its inscrutable purpose and perfection.
Power begins with looking and with stillness. To look with power is to look without seeking a result or an end; to see only what is there, if anything, and to let it go immediately. Then stillness follows.
