Not Thinking

From the Gold Coast Talk 18 December 1993

Keep the perception on ‘me’ inside. It’s quite natural. My intelligence, my consciousness, is still - focused on me. This is quite easy to do, as long as I do not think. For thinking splits my consciousness, divides me and then I don’t know whether I’m myself or me.

It took the human race thousands of years to learn to think - to learn to have problems. It took an enormous amount of effort and time to be unhappy, which means that before that time I was free of unhappiness. Who was? I was, when I was in me: no unhappiness in me - as long as I do not think. If you think, you will think about your problems and you will make your life a problem. It’s as simple as that.

The monitor, the mind, says ‘Simple? I don’t think it’s simple.’ Be careful. Nothing is simple to the human mind. The monitor always makes a problem of everything. The human mind is absurd. It’ll even make a problem of ‘me’, which is the reality in the body.
