From Nothing to Something

From the Gold Coast Talk 26 June 1993

The reciprocal of being within is to get your life right outside. For you will be unable to descend into ‘me’, to get through your self, while you are emotionally disturbed. And the only thing that disturbs us emotionally is the external life or the thought about it.

Because emotion is so much more coarse than the sweet stillness of me, it is the emotion that gets my attention and therefore seems to cut out the being of me. If I can get my life right, the emotions start to settle down in my self. Then I have a harmony between me and my self which allows an interaction that is right.

There must be no division between me and my existence. The self is what causes that division and stops the harmony of life from flowing through from nothing into something, which is all this out here. But because I cannot sustain this existence, I will go back into nothing. Tonight I will go back into nothing, in deep dreamless sleep, and then tomorrow morning, perhaps, I will rise and come out of the flowing tide into existence.
